Booking Your Shoot

What are your opening hours?
We are open Tuesday to Thursday 9 until 6 and Friday and Saturday 9 until 5.

How can I book my photo session?
You can contact us through the find out more section of our website or email us at peter-trenchard@jerseymail.co.uk. We will then arrange a convenient time for your session. Alternatively, you can call us on 01534 769933 or visit the studio to make a booking.

How soon can you fit me in for my photo session?
This all depends on what time and day you are looking for. Afternoon and weekend appointments are the most popular and for these you may have to book 2-3 weeks in advance. Morning appointments during the week, however, are much more flexible and you can expect to be able to have your session within one week if your require.

Why do you charge a shoot fee?
Your shoot fee acts as a security against your appointment and shows us that you are committed to attending our session. This fee is payable over the phone by credit card, by cheque in the post or at the studio. Please note that sessions will only be reserved for 3 working days. If payment is not made within that period then unfortunately your session will be cancelled. This is due to the high demand for appointments.

If I cancel my session do I lose my shoot fee?
Your shoot fee is non-refundable. However, it is transferable if you wish to rebook for another day. However, if you are to cancel within 24 hours of your shoot you will lose your shoot fee.

I'm not sure what style of photos I want. Do you offer a consultation?
We do offer a free consultation. It is advisable to book an appointment for this. One of our consultants can show you around our studio and show you a large selection of example pictures, along with various presentation options for the images afterwards.

The Studio Session

I have woken up with a spot. Should I cancel my shoot?
There is no need to cancel your appointment, as we will remove all blemishes during post-production free of charge.

What happens if my child is poorly and does not want to be photographed? Do I lose my shoot fee?
If this happens, don't worry. We will book you in for another day. Your shoot fee is transferable to your next session.

Can I have black & white and colour photographs taken?
As all our pictures are taken digitally they can be presented in a variety of finishes including colour, black & white and sepia.

How long will my photo session take?
Your photo session lasts for approximately one hour.

How many photographs are taken during one shoot?
It varies considerably from one shoot to another, however, we will always make sure there are plenty of images to choose from.

I don't want to be in the pictures. How will you know what I want you to photograph?
When you arrive at the studio you will receive a form to fill in so you can let us know exactly what combinations you are looking for. This means Peter will only focus on these combinations, giving him more time to create the final image you really want.

What happens if I do not like the pictures?
In the unlikely event that you do not like any of the photographs we will book you in for a re-shoot free of charge.

My children are generally very naughty and we have never been able to get a good picture. What makes Peter different?
Don't worry. Peter has plenty of experience working with young children. However, if we cannot capture everything that you require in the first shoot then we will be happy to book you in for a second shoot free of charge.

I want to look at my best. Would you suggest I have professional make-up done?
We have a highly experienced professional make-up artist. However, one week's notice is advisable if you wish to book her. Her rate is £45 per person and includes full make-up and minimal hair styling. We do advice make-up for women who are having portraits on their own, however, for family portraits make-up is not essential.

I would love a photograph of my dog. Do you photograph pets?
We can photograph your pets with or without you.

What do you advise we wear?
We try to create classic, timeless images, which should be reflected in the clothes you choose. Plain and simple clothing is best. When you make your booking with us you will receive further information in this area.

Do you supply props?
We do have a large selection of props e.g. boxes, toys, alternative backgrounds which we can use during your shoot. We do, however, recommend bringing your own props if they are personal to you. Examples such as teddy bears and musical instruments are very popular.

Can I give the portrait experience as a gift?
Yes you can. A Peter Trenchard Photography gift voucher is a popular gift idea and includes the studio session as well as credit for any products we offer as an addition.
